I've been away . . . so to speak

I haven't done much posting here recently. I've been galavanting around some of the "conservative" blogosphere trying to refute misleading statements (or lies) and generally sticking up for people and organizations that I think deserve it.

But to quote a famous president, "It's hard work." And unfortunately, it seldom pays off. There are only a few people out there who are actually willing to debate the issues of the day. More often than not, the "discussion" consists of snippets from "my guy's" writings and" your guy is a hateful, anti-American, Bush-hating scum bag." It started out as fun because it really got me to put my thoughts together and to actually look up some of the source material that's out there to read.

But I found only one or two people who would actually give a little if I give a little. To most, it's just "I'm right, you're wrong, and you are [choose any two of the following] (looney, a pussy, not man enough to get a date, an idiot, liberal lunatic, psychotic . . . ).

So I'm going to try to get back to my origianl purpose which is to present information from sources which I find interesting and which I find many citations and links to orginal source material. This information may not be the final "truth", but I usually think it makes sense and has enough backing, source-wise, to make it legitimate for inclusion and discussion.

In another post I'm going to lay down some guidelines for this blog. I'm not calling them rules because I'm going to leave myself room for judgement.

But I do expect the discussions to be civil and respectful, something I rarely find where I've been. Again, there have been exceptions (marginally), and you know who you are.

I'm glad to see that you ARE man enough to post my site's link after the spanking I threw down. Visitors will get to see your unfortunate and tepid response to that correction as well. Very, very disappointing, Jim. I really counted you as one of the smarter liberals - excuse me, progressives I know online. Perhaps an off day? You're welcome to post my comment at your site if you would like - verbatim, please.

EH visitors can also see the Bushitler photos you swore were not in existence along with the hate speech you also swore did not exist on the left. In fact, Just Ain't Right (in the head) is attacking the First Lady - again. Someone explain to me what that lovely lady did to deserve leftist dung thrown at her?

I'm not sure if I see a hint of reason in your post. I hope so. Your side is becoming truly certifiable. But if you are sincere you can start by pulling Kos, DU, The Smirking Chimp and any other site that tolerates or encourages hate speech towards conservatives off your blog and post why. Be an original, Jim.

If your are an honorable man then let's see you stand up to the lunatics of left. I challenge any liberal, excuse me progressive, to stand up to these nuts. Goto Just Ain't Right (in the head) and stand up to these crazies. You be attacked just as sure as you were a conservative. Watch and see and let me know what happened.

... Oh, I see the left is attacking Chris Matthews for wandering off the reservation. is that an example of liberal "tolerance" for diverse opinions? What would Lieberman say?

Just to show that I believe in equal opportunity in my blog roll for hate speech, I offer the following:

"2006 will begin and end with the same cast of leftist aphasic monkeys making the same old and some new charges against the Bush administration . . . It seems absurd to ask these "nattering nabobs of negativism" [welcome back, Spiro] to grow up or act like civilized human beings . . . What great things could this country accomplish if it weren't for the disloyal and traitorous opposition?"

You will find this hate speech at here

Jim, curious where you throw down on the hate speech at the Daily Kos' of the world.

Real,

I may be looking at things from a different perspective than you, but I'm having trouble remembering the "hate speech" you ascribe to Daily Kos.

I read Daily Kos daily, mostly the diaries and rarely the comments. In the diaries I don't see hate speech being pervasive. I certainly see speech critical of the administration and others.

But if you point me to specific instances of what you are referring to, I will respond accordingly.

Also, could you please point me to the blogs you routinely read for your information.
